Hobart Hurricanes' hard-hitting radical Tim David unleashed some huge hits in the death overs to power his side to a six-wicket win against the Melbourne Renegades in their BBL 2023-24 face-off. 

David launched Renegades pacer Will Sutherland for a huge six towards his leg side in the penultimate over of the game, thus orchestrating the finishing act alongside Corey Anderson.

The 27-year-old was recently retained by the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season, after representing the franchise earlier this year with much success.

Tim David goes berserk after IPL 2024 retention

Australian batsman and Mumbai Indians star Tim David clubbed a boundary and a six to seal the deal for Hobart Hurricanes in their tense run-chase against Melbourne Renegades in Hobart. The 27-year-old scored 12 unbeaten runs from just eight balls and ensured his side crossed their huge 184-run target with an over to spare.

Back in November, Tim David became one of the 17 cricketers to be retained by the Mumbai Indians' management alongside franchise veterans Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav, among others. 

The franchise also made some new recruitments at the IPL 2024 auction in the form of Gerald Coetzee, Mohammad Nabi, Dilshan Madushanka and Shreyas Gopal.

In his second season in IPL for Mumbai Indians this year, Tim David scored 231 runs across 16 matches at an astonishing strike rate of 158.22. The cricketer impressed one and all in the limited opportunities bestowed upon him in IPL 2022.
