[Watch] Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi Ready For Boxing Day Test Against India

After squaring off in the T20I series and emerging victorious in the ODI series, the Indian team is set to lock horns with South Africa in a two-match Test series, commencing on December 26 at SuperSport Park, Centurion. 

In the lead-up to the opening Test, South Africa receive encouraging news as both Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada make themselves available for the test series. Additionally, the duo hasn't requested any backup to be added to the squad from the board. 

Meanwhile, Ngidi and Rabada were spotted bowling in the nets to the former South African captain, Dean Elgar, and Temba Bavuma. Both players displayed excellent form during the practice session, and they are expected to feature in the Boxing Day Test against India.  

While Rabada was struggling with a heel injury, Ngidi had issues with his ankle as the duo missed the white-ball series against India. Meanwhile, coach Shukri Conrad also confirmed that the duo has been looking in fine touch and are still part of the squad.

“They are both here with us and that means they are available for selection as things stand. We have not called anybody in as a replacement and hopefully come the morning of the match we have 15 fit players to select from," Cornad said. 

Regarding Team India, big names including Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah will make their return to action for the first time since the 2023 World Cup. As India aims to alter its record in South Africa, winning the Test series is a top priority.
