It was a run fest in the seventh game of the CPL 2024 at the Warner Park in St. Kitts between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. A total of 492 runs were scored in the game in just 38 overs. The numbers give us the idea that it was a heaven for the batters.

The Warriors batted first in the game after they won the toss. The proceedings were dominated by Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shimron Hetmyer for the Warriors. The duo stitched a partnership of 116 runs off 47 deliveries and that injected a great momentum to their innings. The Warriors went on to score 266/7 in their 20 overs, scoring the highest of CPL 2024 and the second highest total of the tournament's history.

Hetmyer achieved a rare feat in the match

While Gurbaz scored 69 off 37 balls, Shimron Hetmyer stayed in the middle almost till the end of the innings and scored 91 runs off 39 deliveries. Hetmyer's innings was decorated with 11 huge maximums. During this blinder of a knock, achieved a rare feat in cricket. He became the first ever batter in the history of the game to have not hit a four, who has more than ten sixes in an innings. The uniqueness of the feat lies in the fact that the batters often find hitting fours easier than maximums.

Warriors managed to win the match

Coming back to the game, the Patriots made a valiant effort in chasing down the massive target. Especially the skipper of the team, Andre Fletcher showed a lot of flare during his stay in the middle. He scored 81 runs off 33 deliveries and kept his team on track to the target for a long time. However, in the end the Patriots were restricted to 226 as the Warriors won the match by 40 runs.
