Smaran Ravichandran turned on the heat in a thrilling Maharaja Trophy 2024 affair between Gulbarga Mystics and Mysore Warriors. He slammed 104 off just 60 balls and with one needed off the final ball, hit a winning boundary as well to take Mystics to a memorable win in a high-scoring affair.

Mysore Warriors batted first and managed to score 196 on the board with Karun Nair hitting 66 off 35 balls. In reply, Mystics lost two early wickets but Smaran kept his cool and paced his innings beautifully with able support from Praveen Dubey coming lower down the order.

Gulbarga needed 10 off the final over and Smaran, the left-handed batter was batting in his 90s. That did not hinder his focus, and the man not only got to his century but smashed a powerful pull shot off the final ball to take his team over the line.

The magnificent knock has made him the first batter to score a century in this 2024 season of Maharaja Trophy, and Gulbarga Mystics also managed to open their account finally on the points table after two consecutive losses.
