Mayank Agarwal was badly hit on his head in the 8th match of IPL 2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. The incident happened in the 18th over when Mayank Agarwal stopped a six from Hardik Pandya at long on with a brilliant jumping effort. He did brilliantly to put the ball inside the playing area but in the process fell on his head and looked in great discomfort.

However, physios came charging in and after a brief treatment, Mayank Agarwal was fit and ready to continue. He not only saved five important runs for his team, but that frustrated Hardik Pandya as well and he ended up throwing his wicket away on the final delivery of the 18th over.

SRH eventually won the game by 31 runs and have opened their account on the points table after losing a close encounter against KKR. The win was setup by their batters who blasted 277 in the first innings, the highest-ever team total in IPL on the back of fifties by Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.

Mumbai Indians in reply did whatever they could but the target proved way out of their reach in the end as SRH prevailed in the historic high-scoring encounter.
