In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, Rajasthan Royals (RR) shared a heartwarming reunion on social media 'X' between their star spinner R Ashwin and Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant amid the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024's busy atmosphere during the practice session in Jaipur.

Pant was encouraged by Ashwin while practising in the nets ahead of Tuesday's group match against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Ashwin's famous chant was similar to what Pant used to say when he ran into the bowl. So, it was time for a role swap, with the latter encouraging the returning Pant with yells of "Come on, Rishabh".

In a widely shared video, Ashwin's encouraging and inspiring voice can be heard in the background as Pant prepares to face a delivery at the nets.

"Come on Rishabh, come on Rishabh. Keep playing yaar," Ashwin called out, instilling confidence in the young DC captain.

Pant took inspiration from Ashwin's remarks and responded with his bat, launching the ball over the boundary for a clean six.

Ashwin remarked, "What a shot yar. A little bit of encouragement and you hit a six.”

As he observed this conversation, head coach of DC Ricky Ponting couldn't resist chiming in with a humorous remark, saying “Please stand behind Rishabh in the game also.”

Pant made his long-awaited return to competitive cricket in DC's season opener against Punjab Kings (PBKS). Despite his side's four-wicket defeat, the southpaw showcased his skills, scoring 18 off 13 before his dismissal.

Additionally, he displayed excellent wicketkeeping abilities with a catch and a stumping during PBKS' batting innings.

Delhi Capitals will be looking to secure their first win of the IPL 2024 season when they face Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on March 28.
