Ishan Kishan kept Australia at bay throughout his spectacular run with the bat at Trivandrum on Sunday. The pocket-sized dynamo, as they call him, registered his second fifty of the series, hitting the Matthew Wade-led side all across the park during his 32-ball 52 before Marcus Stoinis ended his night with the willow.
Kishan threw his wicket away as he tried an extravagant stroke. To a full and wide ball, the southpaw threw the kitchen sink without any foot movement, as he got into an awkward position. In the process, he lost a hand off the handle and fell on the back, before holing down the throat of deep cover.
However, before getting out, the left-handed batter became a headache for the Australia captain. He smoked three fours and four biggies, especially going behind Glenn Maxwell - against whom he changed his gears.
Batting at 26 runs in 22 balls, Kishan went down the track against Maxwell for a six downtown before he swept him for a boundary. Suddenly, the Indian No.3 - who was batting at around run-a-ball earlier - completed his fifty in just 29 deliveries.
Earlier in the evening, Yashasvi Jaiswal staged the innings for Men In Blue with his 25-ball 53 before Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad carried on the attack. In the end, the latest-turned finisher Rinku Singh played an exceptional nine-delivery 31 cameo as India propelled to 235-4 in Trivandrum.
