Verstappen, a three-time world champion, has been the talk of the F1 world, shattering records with an astounding eighteen victories in the 2023 season. As he gears up for what could be his nineteenth win, the Dutch racing prodigy received an unexpected token of admiration from the cricketing arena.

Iyer, an important member of India's World Cup 2023 team, took time out to attend the Abu Dhabi GP, bringing with him a special memento for Verstappen. Despite India's heartrending loss in the World Cup final to Australia, Iyer's personal performance was nothing short of spectacular, notching up 530 runs at an average of 66.25 across 11 innings. His jersey, printed with his name and the number 96, was warmly received by Verstappen.

The exchange was captured in a photograph that quickly gained attention, highlighting the mutual respect between top athletes across different sports. Verstappen was visibly delighted with the gift as he was seen holding the jersey along with a wide smile on his face.

It is worth mentioning that Iyer, currently resting after the World Cup, is set to return to the cricket field for India's upcoming tour of South Africa. Following a brief hiatus from the T20I side, Iyer will be keen to reaffirm his position in the team as they gear up for the T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the USA and West Indies.
