In the recently concluded match between Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets at the Edgbaston, Birmingham, the Phoneix registered a comfortable six wickets win, and with that, they knocked Trent Rockets out of the Hundred 2024.

Rockets, batting first, put just 118 runs on the board courtesy of a fifer from Tim Southee. In reply, Birmingham lost four wickets but chased down the target with seven balls in hand.

Credit for the win goes to Liam Livingstone and Jacob Bethell, as they combined to earn crucial two points for the Phoenix. They stitched a crucial fifth-wicket stand as Livingstone scored 30 (32), while Bethall was the more aggressive one with 38 (29), which featured five fours and a solitary six.

The Rockets are officially out of the tournament as they have just six points and placed fifth on the table with just one game remaining for them. 

They also dealt a blow as Rashid Khan was ruled out of the tournament because of a hamstring injury.

However, the Phoenix had a major missing as ECB pulled out Chris Woakes from the Hundred because of workload management as he was all set to join Birmingham for their last two games.
