Pakistan’s star batter, Saud Shakeel, showcased his exceptional form in Test cricket, continuing his remarkable performance against Bangladesh in the ongoing first Test in Rawalpindi. 

On the second day of the match, Shakeel achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 3rd Test century, further solidifying his place as a key player in Pakistan’s batting lineup.

Day 1 of the Test saw Pakistan finish at 158/4 after only 41 overs of play, with Shakeel unbeaten on 57. 

As Day 2 progressed, Shakeel skillfully converted his half-century into a hundred, leaving Bangladesh’s bowlers struggling to contain him. 

The moment of his century came in the 78th over when Shakeel, facing Miraz, pushed a flighted delivery outside off through the covers, running two to reach the three-figure mark.


His composed knock was met with enthusiastic celebrations, with teammates, including captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam, giving him a standing ovation.

This century marks Saud Shakeel’s 3rd in just his 20th Test innings, highlighting his impressive average of over 60 in the format. His performance continues to be pivotal for Pakistan, especially in subcontinental conditions where he has excelled. 

Later in the match, Saud Shakeel departed after scoring well-made 141 runs off 261 runs.

At the time of writing, Pakistan are at 364 for 5 in 96 overs, with Agha Salman and Mohammad Rizwan at the crease.
