Harry Singh, a young cricketer from Lancashire, made his presence felt during England's opening Test against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford in Manchester on August 21, 2024. 

Selected for 12th-man duties alongside teammates Charlie Barnard and Kesh Fonseka, Harry was seen on the field early in the match after England opted to bowl first. 

He first came on as a substitute fielder in the third over and later returned in the 37th over during the post-lunch session when Harry Brook had to leave the pitch.

Who Is Harry Singh Son Of Former Indian cricketer?

Harry Singh confidently made his List A debut for Lancashire in July this year during the One-Day Cup. In seven matches, the 20-year-old has made a total of 87 runs, with an average of 12.42 and a strike rate of 64.44 and a highest score of 25.

Singh also bowls off-breaks as he has two wickets to his name. In 2022, he was selected for the England U19 team for their series against Sri Lanka. 

Furthermore, he has competed as an opening batter for Lancashire 2nd XI. The potential for Singh to secure a place in the English national team in the future remains uncertain.

RP Singh Senior's Contribution To Cricket

Harry Singh is the son of former Indian cricketer RP Singh Senior, a left-arm fast bowler who represented India in two ODIs against Australia in 1986.

RP Singh Senior had a distinguished domestic career, playing 59 first-class matches and taking 150 wickets, alongside scoring 1413 runs. 

After his retirement, he moved into coaching and later relocated to England in the late 1990s, where he worked with Lancashire County Cricket Club and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
