The T20 World Cup 2024 kicked off with a historic match between co-hosts USA and Canada in Dallas. This opening encounter is a significant milestone for the sport on a global scale, marking the beginning of a highly anticipated tournament. 

Earlier in the match, USA won the toss and elected to bowl first and Nicholas Kirton, the left-handed batter, had an impressive start to the tournament. He showcased good cricketing shots and one such shot was witnessed during the 13th over of the match.  

In the 13.3 over, Kirton delivered a powerful shot as he smashed a massive six over the cover. Shadley Van Schalkwyk attempted a slow dipping yorker but ended up bowling a full toss at 108 kmph. 

The Canadian batter bent his back leg slightly and smashed the ball over the fence. He lifted it over the covers and generated enough power to clear the boundary, demonstrating impressive strength and technique.

Canada started their innings with a positive note, with Johnson playing some impressive boundaries and looking poised to dominate the game. However, USA's bowler Harmeet Singh managed to dismiss him, shifting the momentum. 

Followed a few more overs, the USA staged a solid comeback by taking crucial wickets. Notably, all-rounder Corey Anderson had a remarkable start to the T20 World Cup 2024, taking a wicket on his very first ball. 

The former New Zealand cricketer dismissed Navneet Dhaliwal, who had just scored the first half-century of the tournament with a blazing fifty.
