The first wicket of the T20 World Cup 2024 arrived in the form of Aaron Johnson. The Canadian opener, looked in ominous touch against rivals USA, but one moment of brilliance from fielder Nitish Kumar changed the complexion of the match.

Put into bat, Canada started on the front-foot, with Johnson leading the charge. He struck some gloruous boundaries, and was set to take the game away from USA, when bowler Harmeet Singh got his 'prized' wicket.

He bowled a brilliant tossed up delivery and invited Johnson to go for the big shot. The Canada opener went with the shot, but miscued it as Nitish Kumar at long-off took a really smart catch. The ball was up in the air for a while, but Nitish kept his cool and took it brilliantly.

Talking about the contest, the two teams have a great chance to win their first game in T20 World Cup competition. Despite getting some movement in the early going, the USA bowlers failed to control their lines and lengths as Johnson took full advantage of the situation.

At the moment, Canada are 65/2, with Pargat Singh dismissed for 5, having being run-out by Monank Patel.
