Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, former cricketers Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Misbah-ul-Haq gathered to discuss the upcoming marquee event.

During the discussion at Star Sports, former Pakistan cricketer expressed his belief that Australia will emerge victorious in the World Cup. He emphasized Australia's proven track record and knack for winning major tournaments as key reasons for his prediction.

He also mentioned Pakistan as his second favourite, humorously noting that supporting Pakistan is essential if he wants to continue living there.

"The safest bet I think would be Australia. They know how to win. Whatever may be the condition. They come to Asia and win by playing with just one spinner. You can't write of Australia from any World Cup. The second team is very difficult. Humein Pakistan mein rehna hai, toh Pakistan ko back karna hoga. India ka team badi string hai, sara kuch hai," Misbah Ul Haq said on Star Sports.

The lead-up to the T20 World Cup 2024 has been a concern for Pakistan's cricket team and has raised questions about their form and strategies. Despite a hard-fought victory against Ireland after a surprising initial loss. Pakistan's subsequent series against England exposed significant vulnerabilities.

With two matches washed out by rain, the remaining games saw Pakistan outclassed by England, leaving them winless in the series. Pakistan will begin their campaign against USA on June 6.
