On Friday, November 8, Pakistan stunned Australia as the Mohammad Rizwan-led side beat Australia by nine wickets to level the series 1-1. The visitors not only bounced back but handed the Men in Yellow their worst-ever home defeat in ODIs while batting first.
Notably, Australia, batting first, tumbled for just 163 runs. In reply, the Men in Green chased down the target in just 26.3 overs with nine wickets in hand.
Haris Rauf won the player of the match award for his five-wicket haul, while, Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub were the stars with the bat. Notably, Ayub smashed 82 (71), while Shafique remained unbeaten on 64 (69).
Talking about Shafique, he was scintillating with the bat and smashed four fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, a video has been going viral on the internet where Josh Hazlewood can be seen clapping for Shafique.
Notably, on the fifth ball of the 10th over, Shafique played a perfect cover-driver that raced away for a boundary. Impressed by the shot, Hazlewood clapped for Shafique, and that gesture went viral on the internet.
Australia To Rest Key Players For 3rd And Final ODI
Pakistan will lock horns against Australia on November 10 at 9:00 am IST. It is a series decider and Australia are in deep trouble as the Men in Yellow have rested few key players for the upcoming clash.
Notably, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood will not be a part of the upcoming clash. Further, Josh Inglis, who has been named as the interim captain for the upcoming T20I series, will also lead Australia in the 3rd ODI in Cummins' absence.
