The second ODI between Pakistan and Australia came to a befitting conclusion for the visiting team as they levelled the series with a thumping 9 wicket victory over the Pat Cummins led side at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on November 8.

Babar Azam Finishes Off In Style

Pakistan's ex-captain, Babar Azam, who stepped down after handing over the leadership reigns to Mohammad Rizwan, finished things in style as he hit the match winning six right into the stands. With no time to waste, in the 27th over, Babar Azam hit a maximum off Adam Zampa's half-tracker on the stump. It looked like Babar did not need any invitation as he rocked back and pulled it hard over the mid wicket fence and hit a six.



However, the real gem of the game were the Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, both of whom stitched up a phenomenal partnership of 137 runs for the first wicket. The duo destroyed the Aussie bowlers at home with their wide range of shots all through the Adelaide Stadium.

Talking about the game, Pakistan’s bowlers were on fire, Led by Haris Rauf, who claimed his second ODI five-wicket haul, taking 5/29 as Australia were bowled out for just 163 in 35 overs. The Aussie openers failed again, with Shaheen Shah Afridi striking early to leave Australia struggling at 79/2. Steve Smith and Josh Inglis were the only bright spots in an otherwise dismal batting effort. 

In reply, Pakistan’s openers showed resilience against Australia’s potent pace attack. Saim Ayub led the charge, scoring a blistering 82, while Abdullah Shafique (64*) anchored the chase. Babar Azam (15*) joined Shafique to seal the win, ensuring Pakistan’s comfortable victory and setting up a thrilling series decider in Perth.
