Setback For BCCI! PCB Denies Hybrid Model Speculations For Champions Trophy - Reports

In a significant development, there are reports that the PCB has refuted the reports by Indian media that the Mohsin Naqvi-led board has agreed to a hybrid model to allocate India matches to UAE.
Notably, there were reports that PCB bowed down to BCCI's demands and accepted the offer to host the Champions Trophy 2025 in a hybrid model. The report mentioned that India would play their games in Dubai, and the Roger Binny-led board has formally conveyed the same to the PCB.
PCB Denies Reports Of Hybrid Model For Champions Trophy 2025
In the latest reports from cricket Pakistan, the PCB sources have dismissed these rumours and remarked that the entire tournament will take place in Pakistan. "No consideration is being given to any hybrid model," PCB source said.
The Champions Trophy 2025 will take place from February 19 to March 9, and there are reports that the ICC and PCB are set to announce the official schedule for the same between November 10-12. One of the reports also mentioned that the PCB wants a written submission from BCCCI over India's participation, and they will release the schedule irrespective of BCCI's response.
As per the proposed groups, Pakistan will be in Group A with India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
Abhishek Tripathi Denies PCB's Claim
While, the PCB has denied the hybrid model reports and BCCI is firm on playing Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai, senior sports journalist, Abhishek Tripathi has provided an update on the matter.
Tripathi posted a tweet and reported that the BCCI has conveyed to the PCB that they will not be travelling to Pakistan and want their games to be held in Dubai.
