In the ongoing fourth-round Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and Kerala at the St Xaviers College ground at Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram. Notably, on Friday, November 8, stumps were taken early because of a heavy downpour in Kerala.
Meanwhile, controversy has erupted in Kerala as UP players have slammed the Kerala Cricket Association for opting for a college ground over a proper stadium for the Ranji match, and visuals are surfing on the internet of dressing room leaking because of the heavy rain. The leakage has led to several kit bags being damaged.
When Manoj Tiwari Slammed Kerala Cricket Association
It is not the first time that a similar thing has happened in Kerala, as previously Manoj Tiwari had slammed Kerala for not using the Green Park Stadium in Thiruvanthanapuram.
“We are playing Kerala in a ground, not a stadium despite there being one built years ago, we are being asked to play in a ground on the outskirts of the State. The dressing rooms are such that you cannot even strategise properly since our dressing room and the opposite dressing room are so close to each other that you can hear what the others are saying. There is no privacy. I hope that this is looked into in the future,” Tiwary had said.
