India captain Rohit Sharma erupted into an angry celebration during Saturday's World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The 36-year-old brought his emotion on the field when he took a perfect DRS call to send Saud Shakeel packing during the 33rd over of Pakistan’s innings.

The second ball of the 33rd over that Kuldeep Yadav bowled was a nicely flighted delivery pitched towards leg stump. The turn beat Shakeel, and the ball went on to hit his pads. A loud appeal came from the Men in Blue camp as soon as it struck his pads, but on-field umpire Marais Erasmus was not convinced to raise his finger.

Rohit Sharma had a discussion with his team straight after the appeal. They were not sure whether to take the DRS, but the Indian captain went ahead with his plan to challenge the call at the very last second.

Rohit watched the big screen closely, assuming whether the ball would hit the stumps or pitch in the middle. Everything seemed perfect after that, as three reds appeared on the screen to reverse the decision.

In the aftermath of the wicket, Rohit was overjoyed, as he had made the right call, and got the result.
