James Anderson is a legend of the game and is the most successful pacer in the history of Test cricket. However, in the ongoing Ashes 2023, he went wicketless in the opening two Tests which led to him being dropped in the third Test. He is back for the fourth Test though in Manchester but could not get a single wicket on day 1 even though England got eight wickets on the opening day.

He, however, started the proceedings on the second day and immediately got into the act with the wicket of Cummins on the very first ball of the day. Talking about the ball, it was a fullish delivery, around off. The ball was shaping away from the Australian captain and he went for a drive straightaway. He hit it uppishly though and ended up a handing a low catch to Ben Stokes at cover point. The English captain grabbed the catch of his Australian counterpart safely and with this wicket, Anderson has got his first wicket of the Ashes 2023.

It was the 9th wicket for England and at the time of writing, Australia have been bowled out for 317 with Chris Woakes taking a five-wicket haul. Australia lead the series currently by a 2-1 margin and England need to win this Test to take this exciting series to the decider.
