During the clash between Texas Super Kings (TSK) and MI New York (MINY) at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Tuesday, July 18, Nicholas Pooran from MI New York delivered a powerful blow, smashing a massive 96-meter six off the bowling of Mohammad Mohsin of Texas Super Kings.

Pooran's innings came at a crucial juncture as he walked in to bat at number four during the second innings when his team was struggling at 47/2 in the ninth over. Tasked with steering his side through a challenging run chase, the left-handed batter seemed determined to make an impact. However, his innings was cut short, and he was unfortunate to be run-out, managing only 19 runs off 15 balls, including the spectacular six.

Unfortunately, the left-handed batter, Pooran, fell victim to a run-out during his short time at the crease. During his brief stay at the crease, he managed to showcase his power-hitting skills by smashing a gigantic six, the only boundary he could muster.

The exceptional shot was smashed on the second ball of the tenth over when Pooran launched a mammoth six over the bowler's head, adding six crucial runs to his team's score.

The shot was executed with impeccable timing, propelling the ball beyond the stadium's boundary and landing amidst the cameramen, leaving spectators in awe.

The other batters couldn't provide substantial contributions, and TSK emerged victorious by 17 runs in the 7th match of the ongoing MLC 2023 tournament.

The TSK innings had started on a promising note with opener Devon Conway leading the charge with a brilliant knock of 74 runs off 55 deliveries, featuring eight boundaries and one six. However, the remaining batting lineup struggled to find their rhythm. Du Plessis could muster only 8 runs, while Cody Chetty and David Miller were dismissed after scoring 12 and 17 runs, respectively. The late surge came from Mitchell Santner, who smashed 27 runs off just 13 balls, including one four and two sixes. TSK posted a total of 154 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 155 for victory, the MINY side faced difficulties in building partnerships and lost wickets at regular intervals. Shayan Jahangir was the top scorer with 41 runs off 38 balls, comprising five boundaries. While Nicholas Pooran and Tim David made valuable contributions of 19 and 24 runs, respectively, their efforts weren't sufficient to secure a victory for their team.

TSK's bowlers showcased a disciplined performance, with Daniel Sams and Mohammad Mohsin claiming two wickets each. Rusty Theron, Zia-ul-Haq, and Dwayne Bravo also contributed with a wicket each. As a result, MINY was restricted to 137/8, and TSK clinched their second win in the tournament.
