The ongoing two-Test series between hosts Sri Lanka and Pakistan finished on Day 5 in the first session, with the visitors winning the match by four wickets and thus taking a 1-0 lead. This was Pakistan's first win after 365 days, having last won a Test against the same opposition at the same venue in 2022.

However, what caught everyone's attention was an epic blunder by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) during the post-ceremony at Galle.

Skipper Azam, called upon by the anchor to take home the winner's prize, was handed an error-filled cheque. The amount mentioned in numbers differed from what was written in words, which neither SLC officials nor broadcasters noticed before the presentation, or realised it was too late to many any sudden change.

As seen in the below highlighted Tweet amount in words was USD 2,000 as compared to the USD 5,000 mentioned in numbers.

Talking more about the Test, Azam lauded both Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman for their mammoth 177-run stand in the first innings, which laid the path to victory for Pakistan.

"When you win the match, you grow in confidence. All credit to the boys, especially the youngsters. We lost early wickets but the way Saud and Agha played totally changed the game. Agha showed his talent and passion with both bat and ball. As a captain, I am impressed and happy with the performance. It's not easy to bat here but the way Saud played was outstanding."

The second and final Test will be held in Colombo from July 24 as Sri Lanka will hope to level the series and keep their home record clean.
