Stuart Broad is a legend of the game and there is no doubting that. Now, in the fourth Ashes Test match in Manchester against the Aussies, he has etched his name forever in a special list by becoming just the fifth man in the history of the game to take 600 Test wickets. Travis Head was the man who was on the receiving end and Broad is now just the second fast bowler to reach this landmark after James Anderson.

The four legends who are ahead in the race now from Broad are Muttiah Muralitharan (800 wickets), Shane Warne (708 wickets), James Anderson (688 wickets) and Anil Kumble (619 wickets). Broad is also now the leading wicket-taker against the Aussies in Test cricket.

Broad has reached the landmark of 600 wickets in 166 Test matches and going by the form he is in the Ashes 2023, we might see him troubling opposition teams in the next few years as well.

Talking about his 600th Test wicket, it was a well-planned wicket. Broad bowled a perfect short delivery on off, inviting Travis Head to go for a pull shot which is known to be a weaker link of his batting. Head pulled it aerially but all he could do is to hit it straight to deep backward square leg where Root took a sharp catch.

It was indeed a special wicket for Broad that he will remember for a long, long time and right throughout the Ashes 2023, Broad has been England's most effective bowler with wickets in crucial junctures.
