The final Test between India and Australia at SCG is turning out to be one interesting game with both teams exchanging blows throughout the game. The day 3 started with India losing four wickets in quick time and Australia were left with the target of 162. 

Sam Konstas and Khawaja started on a positive note, but Prasidh Krishna is fighting hard and has grabbed three wickets to give themselves a glimmer of hope. He first got rid of Sam Konstas and then Labuschagne to bring some tension back in the Australian dressing room. However, it was the wicket of Steve Smith that got India rolling and it was an absolute cracker of a delivery.

Steve Smith Falls One Short Of 10000 Test Runs

It was the final delivery of the 10th over and Prasidh Krishna bowled it short, around off. Steve Smith got across to his right, but the ball hurried onto him and became almost unplayable as he was caught off-guard and could just put his bat on the way to fend it away. The ball though hit the top half of his blade and looped right to the gully fielder where Yashasvi Jaiswal dived and took a fantastic catch. 

Smith was just one away from joining the 10000 Test Runs club and he would be disappointed to lose his wicket in a tense run-chase.

It was a big, big wicket for India and they need to win this game to keep their hopes of qualifying for the WTC final alive. India are without Jasprit Bumrah in the second innings and it would be interesting to see how they go about their business in pressure-cooker of a situation without their star bowler.
