Australia are placed in an advantageous position in the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Even though the home team have the balance tilted in their favour, the Indian team are keeping their hopes alive with some competitive bowling.
India scored 157 runs in their second innings and set a target of 162 in the final innings of the match. One of the major drawbacks for India is that their main bowler Jasprit Bumrah is not bowling in this innings. The absence of Bumrah was felt in the first few overs when Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna looked indisciplined and conceded come unnecessary runs.
Just when it was looking like Australia will run away with the game, Krishna picked up the first wicket and opened the windows for India. After this, Marnus Labuschagne soon followed Sam Konstas and India increased their chances in the game.

On the last delivery of the eight over, Kirshna bowled a good length delivery outside the off stump. Labuschagne stayed inside the line of the ball and tried to guide the ball past the backward point region. However, he got it off the outside edge and was taken by Yashasvi Jaiswal at gully.
It was an important wicket for India and it was evident from the way Virat Kohli celebrated after the wicket. Kohli was seen punching in the air and then getting fired up. It was the aggression from Kohli that Indian fans were excited to watch. Notably, in absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli is currently leading the side and hence his vintage reactions are becoming the centre of attraction.
