Australia have taken the advantage in the fifth and final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The home team are moving towards a dominating win in the match and also the series in the process. The win in also mean that they will secure a place in the final of the WTC.

Notably, India batted first in the game and were not able to display a resilient effort in the first innings of the game. However, the bowlers did a great job and kept them in the game. In the second innings, India managed 157 before being bundled out and set a target of 162 for the Aussies.

An indisciplined start from Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna meant that Australia were way ahead in the game by the 5th over of the fourth innings. Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja, the two openers of the Australian team were in a mood to play aggressively and take the total down as quickly as possible. 

Konstas Departs In An Attempt To Increase The Scoring Rate

In the process of taking the attack to the Indian bowlers, Sam Konstas departed of Prasidh Krishna's bowling. On the fifth delivery of the fourt over, Kirshna bowled a fullish delivery at the off and middle stump. Konstas celared his front foot and tried to heave the ball over the mid-wicket fence. However, the opener did not the connection right and ended up getting a top edge that was takn at mid-off by Washington Sundar.

As the ball skied up in the air, Konstas started walking off the field as he anticipated the fate the of the ball. While walking back the young batter was seen cursing himself. He would have hoped to stay on the crease and take his team to the victory, however, he failed to do so and that could have frustrated him.
