Shakib Al Hasan indulged in an angry roar and gave Jonny Bairstow a send-off in the ICC World Cup 2023 league stage encounter played in Dharamshala on Tuesday (October 10). Even the calming scenes of the world's most beautiful cricket venue couldn't hold the Bangladeshi skipper back from losing his temper at the England opening batter.

Shakib felt riled up by the mauling given to his team by the two English openers after Bairstow combined with his partner Dawid Malan for an excellent stand at the top. The experienced cricketer blasted a brilliant half-century at his end while Malan entered the devastating mode and hammered a marathon 140.

Bairstow was shaping up for a century next to his name as well. However, the explosive right-hander was done in on 52 by an exceptional arm-ball from the left-arm spinner as Shakib evaded the batter's downswing and got one to rattle the stumps.

Moment the ball crashed onto the stumps, Shakib unveiled a fist pump and a roar to send the batter on his way back to the pavillion. The veteran bowler was clearly not amused by the assault dished out against his troops by the two England batters. However, it isn't clear if Shakib abused Bairstow.

Shakib's Angry Send Off To Jonny Bairstow

The incident is from the penultimate delivery of the 18th over in Bangladesh's first-innings bowling effort. Until then, Bairstow and Malan had combined to impose themselves brutally on the opposition line-up for their 115-run partnership at the top and it required a special ball from Shakib to provide Bangladesh relief amidst the carnage.

As Bairstow shaped up to play a flick down the leg side, he was done in by a special delivery from Shakib, which skidded through upon pitching and disturbed the stumps behind the English opener.

It was a perfect ball from Shakib, his trademark arm-ball with which the experienced left-arm spinner has dismissed many players over the years. However, Shakib faced question marks on his behaviour on social media again after a clip of the send-off given to Bairstow went viral.

Bairstow wouldn't have expected the opposition skipper to lose his temper in the heat of the game in a fixture played without any sense of animosity between the two sides. But it wasn't clear if the Bangladeshi stalwart abused him after the breakthrough.
