Imad Wasim struck big against Multan Sultans in the high-octane PSL 2024 final at Karachi's National Stadium. Turning up for Islamabad United, the 35-year-old cricketer removed Multan Sultans opener Yasir Khan and number three David Willey in his opening over of the match.

In one of his return spells later in the game, Wasim snapped dangerous Johnson Charles to curtail the latter's threatening partnership at the crease alongside well-set half-centurion Usman Khan.

After striking twice in his opening over, Imad Wasim further dented Multan Sultans' top-order plans by getting rid of Johnson Charles.

The United's left-arm spinner deceived Charles with a slow ball and suffocating length, with the West Indies batter ending up top-edging one towards Naseem Shah stationed at short fine.

Imad also accounted for the wickets of Khushdil Shah and Chris Jordan off successive deliveries to finish with astonishing figures of 5-23 off his four overs.

His spell marked just the second five-wicket haul of his T20 career, one which humbled Multan Sultans' batting line-up in the all-important PSL 2024 final.

Wasim's spin teammate and Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan also struck thrice in his four-over spell, as the duo orchestrated a dramatic Multan Sultans batting collapse from 67-2 to a modest total.
