Shaheen Afridi has been a sparkling revelation for Welsh Fire this Men’s The Hundred 2023 season. In his debut game for the franchise earlier in the tournament, the speedster struck twice in his first two balls to script a memorable win over Manchester Originals.

Afridi also found himself amongst the wickets in his subsequent three outings, with his new-ball dexterity emerging as a pivotal factor in his side’s success this season.

With opposition batsmen struggling to counter his swing, a point of view video circling around the internet shows what it means to face the speed maverick.

POV video facing Afridi goes viral

Shaheen Afridi recently took field for Welsh Fire in a home fixture against Southern Brave. While the cricketer went wicketless in the game, one of his deliveries captured by Finn Allen’s helmet camera has gone viral on the internet.

In the video, the speedster pitched it in short to deliver a rising delivery outside the off stump to Allen. The Southern Brave opener, in response, played an upper cut towards third man for a boundary.

Afridi will now turn up for Welsh Fire in their subsequent home fixture against defending champions Trent Rockets. The match is scheduled to be played on August 14 at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens.

Following the conclusion of the competition, the speedster will join his Pakistani teammates for the upcoming ODI Asia Cup at home. The tournament will also be co-hosted by Sri Lanka, and will kick-off on August 30.
