Veteran England all-rounder Heather Knight channelled her inner MS Dhoni in a thrilling finish as she led the London Spirit to a dominant 7-wicket victory over the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred 2024 women's edition.

For their respective final fixture of the 2024 Hundred Women competition, London Spirit Women were up against Northern Superchargers. The latter batted first but to their misery, the top order collapsed resulting in a 99-run total.

Needless to say, the London Spirit began the chase as favourites before captain Heather Knight unleashed her inner beast to wrap the chase quickly. Meg Lanning and Georgia Redmayne's opening stand lasted for only 20 runs, followed by Cordelia Grifffith's golden duck.

However, against the odds, Heather Knight stepped up for her team. She played her shots freely without the pressure of the required run rate. Her 43 runs knock-off 35 deliveries consisted of 6 boundaries and a maximum.

Interestingly, the highlight of the game remained Knight's finishing stroke. With just one run needed off the final 15 balls, Heather Knight pulled a leaf out of MS Dhoni's book of finishing to slam a straight six over wide long-on to secure a 7-wicket victory for London Spirit in style.

Wareham's flighted delivery that drifted slightly after hitting the deck failed to deceive Knight as the batter danced down the track to get under the ball in time, and the end result was an extraordinary maximum over the ropes.

With that 7-wicket dominant victory, London Spirit have positioned themselves strongly in the playoff race by jumping to the second spot.

On the other hand, Northern Superchargers' 2024 The Hundred Women's competition is more or less over as they slide down to the fourth spot.
