In a latest development, the BCCI has revised venues for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh with the first T20I being shifted from Dharamsala to the newly constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior.

After wrapping up the bilateral series against Sri Lanka, the Indian cricket team is currently enjoying a 40-day long break from international cricket before the action resumes with a home series against Bangladesh.

The extended bilateral series will kick off with a two-game Test series followed by a three-game T20I series.

However, weeks leading up to the series, BCCI have decided to change the venues of the T20I series. Instead of Dharamsala, the series opener will be played at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. The venues for the second and third T20I were also interchanged.

Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium: All You Need To Know

The Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, previously known as the Captain Roop Singh Stadium, situated in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh is set to host its inaugural international match on October 6 following a complete renovation.

The new stadium, built under the supervision of MPCA, will have the capacity to host 30 thousand spectators, which is expected to be increased by a further 20 thousand depending on future needs.

Also, the Scindia Stadium is built as per international cricket norms, including full length boundary dimensions and as many as 9 playing pitches. The stadium also possesses a flood light facility, required dressing rooms, a training facility, a media room, a gym, health centres, office premises and many more.

The last match held at this venue was back in 2010 when legend Sachin Tendulkar became the first male cricketer to score a double century in the ODI format. The game was played against South Africa before the stadium was closed down for renovation.
