In the recent BBL 2025-26 game between the Melbourne Renegades and the Sydney Sixers, Hassan Khan pulled off one of the best catches of the match to dismiss Moises Henriques in dramatic fashion.

The Sixers were chasing 165 runs in the second inning at Docklands Stadium. After a 46-run opening stand between Babar Azam and Daniel Hughes, Sydney lost two quick wickets in Hughes and Josh Philippe

Skipper Moises Henriques then walked out to bat at no. 4. But after a fine 23 off 18 balls, a steady knock, Henriques fell to Gurinder Sandhu, courtesy of a stunning catch by Hassan Khan.

On the final ball of the 14th over, Gurinder delivered a full ball outside off, and Henriques attempted an audacious scoop shot.

At first glance, the shot looked safe. The ball went high into the air and seemed destined to land harmlessly in the deep.

The fielder was positioned at deep square leg, and Henriques appeared confident as he watched the ball travel. But Hassan Khan had other ideas.

Starting from mid-wicket, Hassan sprinted a long distance to his left. Timing his run to perfection, he slid just before the rope and flung himself forward.

With both hands stretched out, he completed a sensational catch inches above the turf, sending the crowd and commentators into a frenzy.

Moises Henriques, who had scored 23 off 18 balls with one four and two sixes, could only shake his head in disbelief as he walked back.

Babar Azam’s unbeaten half-century guided the Sixers to an easy win

Despite the skipper’s dismissal, the Sydney Sixers didn’t break a sweat in the chase as Babar Azam guided his team home with a 58* off a 46-ball knock.

Joel Davies’ late fireworks of 34 off 15 balls ensured the Sixers wrapped up the chase with five balls to spare. With that victory, Sydney moved to fifth in the points table, while the Renegades slipped to seventh place.
