Pakistan batter Babar Azam is on BBL duty as the Sydney Sixers’ star overseas signing. Recently, he played cricket with young fans and spread smiles as they enjoyed his presence.

Babar joined the Sixers for his maiden BBL stint in the ongoing season. However, his journey has been underwhelming, as he has scored just 71 runs in four games at a 17.75 average.

He has been dismissed on ducks as well but Sixers are backing him given how widely they prompted him before the tournament.

Babar Azam gets love from young fans

Despite the bad form, Babar Azam is loved by fans in Australia. He recently met some kids who were invited by the Sydney Sixers. He entertained them by playing cricket with them and spread smiles.

The kids, meanwhile, also enjoyed Babar’s warmth and his entertaining side. They cheered for him and had a fun moment.

A short video of this heartwarming fan interaction has gone viral on social media, with fans praising Babar Azam for his sweet gesture towards kids.

That being said, Babar will next be seen on the field on January 1 as the Sixers take on the Melbourne Renegades at Docklands Stadium.

Babar left out of Pakistan's Sri Lanka tour

Pakistan have left out star players Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Rauf from their T20I squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka, just weeks before the 2026 T20 World Cup.

The PCB confirmed that the senior players will remain in Australia to complete their Big Bash League commitments, which is why they were not recalled.

Salman Agha has been named captain for the series, while Shadab Khan returns after injury, and uncapped wicketkeeper Khawaja Nafay earns a maiden call-up as Pakistan test new options ahead of the World Cup.
