The Purani Dill-6 are playing against the East Delhi Riders in the fifth game of the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2024). They are crossing swords at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi.

The East Delhi Riders won the toss and decided to field first in the game. The CSK star- Simarjeet Singh gave the best of starts to the Himmat Singh-led team with the ball. He took the first three wickets of Purani Dilli and put them on the back foot.

After the fall of the first three wickets, the Purani Dilli-6 failed to make a comeback as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Vansh Bedi, who came into bat at number seven with the reputation of being a big hitter and the potential to change the game with his power hitting. In the last match, Bedi played an aggressive knock of 47* runs off 19 deliveries. His innings was decorated with four fours and four maximums.

With Purani Dilli struggling at 46/5, the expectations from Bedi was that he will show his aggressive side and change the momentum of the game. However, that did not happen as Bedi struggled throughout his stay in the middle and managed to score only 9 off 16 before being dismissed by Harsh Tyagi in the ninth over. 

Harrsh Tyagi fired in a fullish delivery at the off and middle line which Bedi tried to sweep but missed. The ball crashed into the stumps and ended the innings of Bedi.

Purani Dilli-6 were looking down the barrel at 63/7 in the ninth over. At this stage, Mayank Gusain and Yug Gupta stitched a partnership of 70 runs and propelled the team towards a respectable total. In the end, the Purani Dilli-6 finished their innings at 142/8 at the end of their allotted 18 overs.
