Northern Superchargers batter Harry Brook brought spectators present at The Rose Bowl to their feet in an enthralling display of power hitting during Sunday's showdown against Southern Brave. Brook's masterclass, an astounding 63 runs off just 27 balls, headlined Match 8 of The Hundred 2023 Men's Tournament in Southampton.

Six, Six, Six – Harry Brook goes berserk against Tim David

Brook, alongside Matthew Short, who scored an impressive 73 runs off 36 balls, helped the Superchargers post a massive total of 201 for three wickets in their 100 balls.

The lanky batter's breathtaking performance, which included three fours and five sixes, hit the pinnacle during a three-ball barrage against the Southern Brave's all-rounder, Tim David.

The 77th, 78th, and 79th balls of the Superchargers' innings saw Brook explode in a display of swashbuckling batting. The onslaught began with David bowling a short delivery. Brook was quick to seize the opportunity, effortlessly pulling the ball over the deep mid-wicket for a mighty six.

Deja vu struck on the very next ball when the bowler repeated his error, and Brook sent another six to the same region. Trying to salvage the situation, David pitched the next ball up, but the explosive batter was ready. With a powerful slog, he sent the ball soaring over the bowler's head, resulting in an extraordinary hattrick of sixes.

Southern Brave's reply to the Superchargers' colossal total was underwhelming, limping to 58 for 2 in the first 42 balls. Their top four batters failed to rise to the occasion, unable to match the explosive hitting required to challenge the steep target.

Despite a valiant effort from David, who blasted a rapid 40 runs from 19 balls, including four sixes, the Brave could only muster 141/5 in their 100 deliveries, falling short by 60 runs.

This win sent Northern Superchargers to the top of the points table, sitting comfortably with 3 points from their opening two encounters. Their next challenge will be against Trent Rockets on Wednesday, August 9, where they will aim to continue their winning streak.
