In the on-going second ODI between Pakistan and Australia, Haris Rauf achieved a brilliant feat as he not just dismissed Pat Cummins but also completed a five wicket haul at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Friday.

Haris Rauf, who kept Australia on their toes in the first ODI as well, picked up his second five-wicket haul in ODIs after sending the Australian captain back for just 13 runs. Immediately after taking the wicket, Rauf kneeled down and thanked god for helping him achieve this feat.

Rauf Takes On The Aussie Batters

Haris Rauf delivered a sensational performance against Australia, taking five wickets in an ODI at the Adelaide Oval, becoming the first-ever Pakistani pacer to achieve this feat in an ODI at the venue. He made a significant impact early, dismissing Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, and Aaron Hardie. He also dismissed Glenn Maxwell was followed by the removal of Australian captain Pat Cummins.


In the 32nd over, Rauf bowled a short delivery outside off, Cummins hung back and went for a pull however got a faint edge on it and Mohammad Rizwan behind the stumps completed a regulation catch. Australia decided to use a review and as the replays revealed there was a clear spike and umpire Chris Gaffaney once again lifted his finger indicating that Cummins had to depart.

Haris Rauf Shatters Imran Khan And Wasim Akram's Record

Rauf’s remarkable bowling effort helped him surpass cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Imran Khan, who never claimed a five-wicket haul in an ODI against Australia in Adelaide. With figures of 5/29, Rauf joined Saqlain Mushtaq as the only two Pakistani bowlers to register a five-wicket haul against Australia at this ground. His performance is now the best ODI bowling figure for Pakistan in Adelaide, surpassing previous records held by other Pakistani greats.
