In the thrilling encounter between India and Pakistan at Nassau County Stadium, Shadab Khan failed to chase down the respectable score set by Rohit Sharma & Co on Sunday (June 9).

The pivotal moment occurred in the 17th over when Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya bowled to Shadab Khan. On the third ball of the over, Pandya delivered a sharp bouncer, and Shadab, attempting a pull shot, was hurried by the pace and got a top edge behind him.

Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant made a good catch, running to his left. This was Pandya's second wicket, removing Pakistan's star batter who scored just 4 runs off 7 balls.

With Shadab Khan's departure, India's hopes for a win were reignited as Pakistan neared the chase.

Earlier in the match, Jasprit Bumrah drew the first wicket of Pakistan's skipper Babar Azam and later removed the big fish, Mohammad Rizwan, scoring 31 runs. With wickets falling regularly, India's hopes were bolstered.

At the time of writing, Pakistan are at 100 for 5 in 18 overs, with Imad Wasim and Iftikhar Ahmed at the crease.
