Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya achieved a remarkable feat this evening, as he completed 100 sixes for the franchise in the Indian Premier League.

The experienced Indian all-rounder unlocked the landmark during MI's ongoing group-stage clash against Sunrisers Hyderbad in the latter's backyard.

The incident occurred in the 12th over of MI's innings when SRH captain Pat Cummins handed the ball to Mayank Markande to bowl the second over of his spell. His decision proved disastrous for the home team, with the young leg spinner conceding ten runs off his first two deliveries.

Pandya struck a massive six off Markande before hitting a boundary on the very next ball. With the first-ball six, the all-rounder completed 100 sixes for the Mumbai-based franchise. Overall, he has smashed 127 sixes in the tournament, while playing for MI and Gujarat Titans.

Earlier, SRH posted the highest-ever total in IPL history, riding on exceptional knocks from Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.

While Head and Sharma established the foundation for a mammoth total, Klaasen ensured a fitting finish for his side with his explosive batting.

Chasing a whopping 278-run target, MI are 182 for three in 14 overs, with Pandya and Tilak Varma batting on 19* and 64*, respectively.
