In a significant development, Mumbai Indians have won the toss and opted to bowl first in their second group-stage match of the ongoing Indian Premier League Season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. While MI have replaced Luke Wood with South Africa's u-19 sensation Kwena Maphaka, SRH have swapped Travis Head in for Marco Jansen.

Furthermore, ace SRH speedster T Natarajan misses out due to a niggle. Veteran Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat replaces him in the playing XI.

At toss, MI captain Hardik Pandya said,

"We are going to bowl first. In the last game, we were solid for most part of it and were a bit loose in two to three overs. So, don't think there is a need to make any change to that. 13 games to go. We just have to keep doing the right things consistently. One change. Luke misses out due to a niggle and Kwena comes in place of him who is going to play in his first game."

On the other hand, SRH captain Pat Cummins urged his troops to capitalise on the home conditions, stating,

"We are not too upset about batting first. It's a tough tournament. We need to get our first points as soon as possible. We need to make a good use of our home conditions. A couple of changes. Travis Head comes in for Marco Jansen. Natarajan misses out due to a niggle and Unadkat comes in."
