Mumbai Indians' explosive finisher Tim David had a horrible start to the ongoing IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, as he dropped a straightforward catch to give Travis Head a lifeline. 

The incident happened in the second over of MI's innings when skipper Hardik Pandya introduced himself into the attack. He created an opportunity on his very first delivery only to witness David dropping a simple catch. 

It was a full length ball from Pandya outside the off stump, as Head went for an aerial shot through the V region. However, he found David at mid-off, who dropped a dolly, allowing the batter to collect four priceless runs. 

David has let MI down with his fielding blunders in the past, costing them several games through his poor efforts. After getting the lifeline, Head went berserk against MI's debutant pacer Kwena Maphaka, smashing him for two sixes and as many boundaries in a single over. 

This is Head's maiden outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL after getting picked by them in the mini auction last season. 

Riding on his fireworks, the hosts have got off to a flier in the match, placed at 50 for one in 4.4 overs, with Head and Abhishek Sharma batting on 36* and 1*, respectively.
