Pakistan had a forgettable start to the second T20I against Australia, as Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk hammered their opening bowlers to all parts of the ground and ensured a solid start for the hosts. However, Shaheen Afridi managed to induce a false shot off Fraser-McGurk's bat only to see Naseem Shah put down the catch at third man.

The incident occurred during the first over of Australia's innings after Josh Inglis won the toss and opted to bat first. After conceding three runs off the first ball, Shaheen lost the momentum, with Fraser-McGurk hitting him for two consecutive boundaries. However, the experienced speedster managed to outfox the batter with his guile, inducing an outside edge off his bat in the penultimate delivery.

From over the wicket, Shaheen banged it short, as Fraser-McGurk attempted an audacious lofted shot.

He couldn't time it properly, with the ball gobbling up in the air for a long time. However, Naseem Shah committed a fielding blunder near the boundary, dropping the catch at third man.

Naseem's sloppy fielding effort annoyed Shaheen, as he expressed his frustration through an animated reaction.

Rauf Brings Pakistan Back With Twin Strikes

Although Shaheen and Naseem were hit all around the park, Haris Rauf varied his pace cleverly to strike twice in an over for Pakistan. After dismissing Fraser-McGurk, the in-form pacer got rid of Australian skipper Josh Inglis, sending shockwaves in the Australian camp. At the time of writing, Australia were 54 for two, with Matthew Short and Glenn Maxwell batting on 31* and 1*, respectively.
