In an unusual display of cricket, Chennai Super Kings failed to scalp a single wicket in the powerplay in their ongoing IPL 2024 encounter against Gujarat Titans. 

The Super Kings' frustration reached a whole new level when a horrendous fielding effort cost them four extra runs. More importantly, the offender was none other than CSK skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad. 

The incident occurred during the seventh over of GT's innings when they had already got a solid start, riding on a scintillating opening stand between skipper Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan. 

After conceding a boundary on his first delivery, Jadeja was able to keep things tight in his next three balls. 

However, the prominent Indian all-rounder wasn't impressed with what followed next as Ruturaj Gaikwad's sloppy fielding resulted in six runs. 

Coming from around the wicket, Jadeja bowled a good length delivery, which was punched off the back foot by Sai Sudharsan. As the GT batters ran for a quick single, Mitchell Santner picked up the ball and threw it only to miss the stumps by miles. 

The ball travelled to the other side of the pitch where Ruturaj Gaikwad let it go between his legs. As a result, the ball ran down towards the fence, rewarding four extra runs to the Titans. Following the incident, Jadeja looked unimpressed as he gave Gaikwad a death stare. 

Regarding the game, GT have been off to a flying start, placed at 99 for no loss in 9.2 overs as of writing.
