In the recently concluded match between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Desert Vipers in ILT20, Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman has hogged the internet after he failed to shine against the Knight Riders. ADKR, batting first, put 166 runs on the board.

In reply, the Vipers chased down the target in 18.4 overs. Sam Curran and Daniel Lawrence were the stars with the bat as they scored 50+ scores. Meanwhile, eyes were on Fakhar Zaman, as he has made a name for himself in the shortest format of the match.

Zaman started positively as he scored 23 (15), which featured three fours and a solitary six. He belted Fakhar for two sixes but, then fell to Russell's trap on the 3rd ball of the over. Watch the wicket here.

Fakhar Zaman Eying A Place In Pakistan's Champions Trophy 2025 Squad

It is worth noting that Pakistan are yet to announce their 15-member squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Meanwhile, Fakhar has kept the fingers crossed hoping for a place in the team.

Notably, the left-handed batter had a fall-out with PCB after he criticised the Mohsin Naqvi-led board for dropping Babar Azam from the team. It did not go well with the PCB and since then he has not been part of any squad for Pakistan despite even issuing an apology.

However, Zaman's chances to be a part of the squad increased after Saim Ayub's injury. The youngster had sprained his ankle and is likely to miss a few match in Champions Trophy 2025. Thus, the PCB would look to send Zaman as a back-up opener for the prestigious fifty-over event starting on February 19.
