In the ongoing match between Durbar Rajshahi and Dhaka Capitals, history has been scripted as the Capitals hit the highest total in Bangladesh Premier League history. The Capitals, batting first, put 254 runs on the board at the loss of just one wicket after 20 overs.
It is worth noting that Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan were the stars with the bat as they both hit centuries. Notably, Das was the star with the bat as they scored 125 (55), which featured 10 fours and nine sixes. Meanwhile, Tanzid scored 108 (64). It was only the second time in BPL history that two players in the same innings had scripted a century.
The knock has been special as it has come at a very crucial time for Das. It is worth noting that Das was dropped for the upcoming Champions Trophy that will take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
Highest Total In BPL History Scripted
With 254/1 on the board, the Capitals beat the previous record set by Rangpur Riders in 2019 when they amassed 239 runs on the board. Talking about Litton Das, he was out of form as prior to this knock, he had amassed just 115 runs in five innings.
Further, there were hints that Das might not find a place in Bangladesh team after skipper Najmul Shanto was spotted with gloves during his BPL outings. Now there is a possibility that Shanto might keep wickets in the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025.
