England's premier allrounder Sam Curran had a memorable day with the bat, as he smashed a blistering hundred, powering Surrey to a clinical win over Hampshire in the 116th match of the ongoing T20 Blast season. 

Coming at number five, Curran hammered 102 runs off 58 balls, resulting in Surrey's thrilling last-over win.

Chasing 184, Surrey had a disastrous start to their innings, losing the prized wickets of Will Jacks, Laurie Evans and Rory Burns cheaply. 

After Dom Sibley departed for a sluggish 24-ball 27, Curran shifted gears to swing the game in Surrey's favour. 

The left handed batter smashed seven boundaries and six glorious sixes for his unbeaten 102-run knock. 

More importantly, he finished the game in style with a gigantic six, completing his ton in this process. 

The incident occurred in the final over of Surrey's innings when they needed two runs to win. As James Fuller started his over with a full length delivery outside the off stump, Curran's eyes lit up. 

The southpaw instantly showed his aggressive intent, smacking him for a huge six over the cow corner. His winning hit reminded fans of MS Dhoni, who used to finish matches with maximums. 

Despite losing their final group stage clash, Surrey entered the next round as the top-placed team. They will take on Durham in the first quarterfinal on September 3.
