Mohammed Shami recently addressed the swirling rumours linking him romantically with tennis star Sania Mirza. 

These rumors emerged following Mirza's divorce from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, with social media rife with manipulated images and baseless claims suggesting a potential marriage between Shami and Mirza. Despite the lack of credible sources or official statements, these speculations gained traction.

In a candid interview with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Shami expressed his frustration with the situation.

"it is weird and done purposely for some lame fun. But what can be done? If I open my phone, I could see those memes. But I would only like to say I think that memes are made for fun, but if they are related to someone's life, then you must think about it and then share such things. These people share from unverified pages and get away by saying anything and everything," Shami said. 

Shami's stern response has garnered attention in both sports and entertainment circles. While cricketers are frequently linked with stars from the glamour world, Shami's denial aims to put an end to the unfounded speculations.

On the professional front, Mohammed Shami has been out of action since the 2023 ODI World Cup due to a right heel injury, which required surgery and caused him to miss both the IPL 2024 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. 

However, the 33-year-old pacer has recently resumed bowling in the nets.
