Captains' Thoughts
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Definitely we would have also batted first. In the last game after that defeat, we had a long meeting and we are very positive for this game. Yeah one thing is, partnership is really important for us. Earlier we used to have partnerships between all the batters so we have spoken about the same. We want everyone to take the responsibility, bat till the end and as I said, everyone looks positive for this fixture."
Sophie Devine (New Zealand Women Captain): "We are going to have a bat first again today. We did an excellent job last game. The wicket won't change too much. Hopefully, we will look to put some runs on the board. (On her 150th ODI appearance) It's an honour. But it also involves a lot of warm-ups and ice packs. It is something that I will reflect on after the game is finished. We have a job in our hands first. We have been consistent throughout. That is something I am really proud of my team."
How Has The Series Fared So Far?
In the ongoing series, Harmanpreet Kaur missed the opening match because of a niggle. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana led the side well and registered a 59-runs win in the first ODI. In that match, India, batting first, put 227 runs on the board. In reply, New Zealand tumbled for just 168 runs.
In the next match, the white Ferns bounced back and registered a 76-runs victory to stun the hosts. New Zealand put 259 runs on the board. Meanwhile, India collapsed for 183 runs. Eyes would be on both teams as it is a series-decider match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
