Ellyse Perry is one of the leading cricketers in the world, and has been a consistent performer for RCB as well. Everytime the franchise has been in trouble, the Australian has delivered and she did that again in a tense encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

Ellyse Perry Delivers Under Pressure For RCB

She came out to bat when RCB lost Smriti Mandhana in the third over and though they were soon reduced to 57-4, the right-handed batter kept the scoreboard ticking. Richa Ghosh scored 28 off 25 balls, but other than that, it was all about Ellyse Perry and she single-handedly took RCB to 167.

The Australian also hit two sixes and 11 fours in her knock and one of those sixes came just after her fifty. It came on the fourth ball of the 17th over and against one of the best bowlers in the world, Amelia Kerr. She bowled a tossed up delivery on off and Ellyse Perry danced down the track to launch it all the way over long on to delight the jam-packed crowd assembled at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In the next over, she hit two boundaries against Hayley Matthews and her score of 81 is the highest individual score against MI in WPL history. Also, she went past Harmanpreet Kaur in the total number of fifties in WPL and now has six fifties in the tournament history with only Meg Lanning ahead of her.
