Experienced Indian batter Smriti Mandhana had a torrid outing, as she failed to convert her start into a significant score in RCB's ongoing WPL 2025 match against MI in Bengaluru. Opening the batting for RCB Women, Mandhana managed only 26 runs before Shabnim Ismail dismissed her in the high-voltage clash.
Mandhana Stunned As Ismail Gives Her A Fiery Send Off
The incident occurred during the third over of RCB Women's innings after MI Women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bowl first. Opening the batting with Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, Mandhana started off brilliantly, racing to 26 runs off just 13 deliveries.
However, she couldn't carry her innings forward, with Shabnim Ismail drawing the first blood for MI. From over the wicket, the right-arm pacer bowled a short ball, as Mandhana went for an audacious pull shot.
But she was beaten by Ismail's extra pace, as the ball gobbled up in the air for a long time. Mumbai Indians' wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia did no mistake, taking a simple catch and sending Mandhana back to the hut.
RCB Women In Huge Trouble As MI Get 3 Early Wickets
After Mandhana's departure, RCB Women lost two more crucial wickets in form of Wyatt-Hodge and Raghvi Anand Bist in quick succession. As of writing, the hosts were reeling for 51 for three, with Perry and Kanika Ahuja batting on 13* and 1*, respectively.
