Afghanistan players generally have a light-hearted mood when playing a cricket game, but Fazalhaq Farooqi showed a different shade as he got into a physical contact with South African batter, Aiden Markram and pushed him away. As a result, he was heavily criticised for his on-field behaviour.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first and the decision paid dividend as Ryan Rickelton and Temba Bavuma laid the foundation for a big score on the board. While Bavuma was dismissed for a well-compiled fifty, Rickelton went a step ahead in the contest.

Farooqi brushes off Aiden Markram

He slammed his maiden ODI ton and pushed Afghanistan on the back-foot. The icing on the cake was provided by Markram, who scored a fiery fifty and helped the team cross the 300-run mark. However, apart from his fifty, Markram was also in the news for a not so proud moment.

Fazalhaq bowled a fuller length ball as Markram drilled it on the off side and took a single. For some reason, Farooqi came near the Proteas batter and pushed him away, which created controversy.

However, it could be derived that both the players played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and shared a light-hearted moment.

South Africa set for a big win

Afghanistan needed a tricky target to chase and they got off to a horror start, losing both the openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran cheaply. There was no big partnership as Sediqullah Atal and Hashmatullah Shahidi also departed cheaply.

None of the batters stood strong as Afghanistan lost flurry of wickets and got on the back-foot as South African bowlers dominated the proceedings. At the moment, they are 97/5, still needing 219 to win.
